Aviators Direct aims to foster safer pilots, protect assets, and continue the legacy of General Aviation

Talk to any general aviation pilot about hull and liability insurance, you will hear about the rising cost, pilots being dropped, inability to get adequate coverage, and more.

A few years back we were part of a group of pilots looking at purchasing an aircraft. One was a 70+ year old retired USAF (ATP/CFI/CFII/AGI Gold Seal), the second was a 34-year-old fresh Private Pilot rating with less than 100 hours, the third was a 50+ ATP/CFI/CFII, and the fourth was a 60+ year old with a new Private Pilot rating with less than 150 hours.

After talking with brokers, we found out person one couldn’t get a quote due to age, individuals 2 and 3 were reasonable, and person 4 was over $15,000 per year!

We were left scratching our head wondering where these numbers came from.

The group that included an expert in data analytics and seasoned certified flight instructors went to research the problem and found the data did not match the risk. Additionally, there was no option or program for pilots to work with underwriters to figure out a solution.

After a year of research and talking with industry experts, we have created an alternative option that allowes Pilots to be in command of their asset protection and reduce the barriers to a thriving general aviation sector.
