As Aviators Direct moves toward our official launch, we are requesting interested aircraft owners to join our waitlist. This post will help explain the waitlist and the benefits of signing up now.
Change is hard, especially in the general aviation insurance/risk markets. Many brokers are working hard trying to get the underwriters to change their methods and criteria, but it’s an uphill battle. In the broader context of insurance and risk general aviation insurance is considered a niche market. For this reason (and other reasons) the major underwriters have resisted change.
To be responsive to the market the only path we saw to become our own underwriter. This will allow us to be innovative while providing adequate security to policy holders.
Why join the waitlist?
- Aviators Direct will be the underwriter and structured as a captive insurance company. Said otherwise, for every plan we write, we will have the collateral to back it up. The waitlist helps us calculate how much collateral we require.
- Limited spots. We will be capping the initial round of airplanes in the program. Joining the waitlist does not obligate you to purchase a plan but will reserve your spot.
- Over the past two years we have had countless conversations with fellow pilots and aircraft owners on what their insurance needs are. This is your opportunity to help influence how the policies are designed to meet your needs.
- Lock in early promotional deals on associated services such as flight ops and other add on benefits of Aviators Direct.
What information are we asking for?
We are asking for basic information about you, high level information on your flight experience/ratings, and the aircraft you are looking to cover. This information is for internal use to and will not be shared. The most important information is to understand the type of aircraft and the estimated hull value you request. This will ensure we are appropriately capitalized to offer the plan.
